Say hello to Darcie, a beautiful 7-year-old African Grey Parrot with a big heart and a gentle spirit. Darcie has had quite a journey and is now looking for a calm, patient home where she can truly flourish.
Darcie can be very nervous around new people, and she tends to be wary of men, but with time and kindness, she slowly starts to trust. Once she feels safe, she’ll even let you have a cuddle — a special reward for those who earn her confidence.
She’s a clever girl who loves to mimic TV adverts and whistles, and you’ll often hear her cheerfully say “Alright, Darc!” when she’s feeling relaxed and chatty.

Darcie does step up, especially when she feels comfortable with you. However, unexpected sounds or sudden movements can startle her, and she may take flight to find the highest perch she can — a reminder that she needs a gentle, understanding handler and a safe, secure environment.

She’s not overly keen on other birds, so she’d prefer to be the only feathered friend in the home, where she can enjoy all the love and attention she deserves.
