Description:  Spooky and Percy are a beautiful bonded pair of Orange‑Winged Amazons who simply want to stay together. Their whole world is each other, and as long as they’re side by side, they are calm, content, and wonderfully gentle. They are used to a busy, noisy household and fit in effortlessly. They can be vocal when they want something, but otherwise they quietly observe family life and keep themselves to themselves.

Temperament & Behaviour

• Very gentle boys — they have never bitten, even during cage cleaning.

• Shy with visitors but not frightened.

• They do not speak, but make lovely Amazon sounds to each other.

• No known phobias or triggers.

• No separation anxiety — they simply prefer each other’s company over people.

• They know their names and respond when spoken to.

• Spooky will step up; Percy prefers to stay independent.

• They will take treats gently from your hand.

• Used to children, other birds, and noisy dogs.

Daily Routine

• Wake‑up: 8:30am

• Breakfast: 9:00am

• Out‑of‑cage time: Most of the day

• Cage clean: 12:00pm

• Shower time: Daily in summer (they love being sprayed)

• Tea time: 4:30pm

• Bedtime: 7:00pm (they take themselves to bed and are half‑covered)

Diet

Main diet: Chop, fruit, vegetables, sprouted seeds Pellets: Harrison’s Pepper Pellets

Favourite vegetables: Green beans, sweetcorn, carrots, green peppers, celery, chop mix

Favourite fruits: Apple, grapes, blueberries, oranges, watermelon

Favourite treat: Walnut

Likes & Dislikes

Loves:

• Cardboard boxes (building dens and destroying them!)

• Wooden toys

• Flying around the room

• Spray‑downs and baths

• Out‑of‑cage time

• Preening each other

Dislikes:

• Nothing notable — they are easygoing boys.

Training & Cues

• They will go into their cage when asked.

• They take treats gently from your hand.

• No trick training, but they enjoy simple interaction.

History With Other Pets

• Live alongside a Timneh African Grey (they ignore him; he dislikes them).

• Used to two barking dogs — completely unfazed.

Safehouse Bio

Spooky and Percy are a bonded pair of Orange‑Winged Amazons who thrive simply by being together. They are used to a busy household and fit in beautifully. They enjoy flying, building cardboard dens, and then gleefully destroying them. A daily spray‑down is one of their favourite activities.

Spooky will step up, while Percy prefers to stay independent, but both boys will happily take a walnut treat from your hand. When the family is around, they quietly observe everything from a comfortable distance.

They are gentle, sweet‑natured birds who ask for very little — just to stay together and be loved. They are now ready for a forever home that will appreciate them for the beautiful pair they are.
