Description: Madison – blue and gold Macaw approximately 25 years old

Madison has a very loving and affectionate personality. She loves to be with you for snuggles and kisses. One of her favourite things is to look in the mirror and admire how beautiful she is whilst pulling tongues.

Madison’s main person needs to be a female carer as she is not too fond of males. She also gets on really well with children but not very young children from about the age of nine upwards my grandchildren love giving her a tickle when she’s in the mood.

Since coming into safe house Madison’s diet has changed and she now enjoys lots of fresh vegetables, rice, pasta couscous, sweet potatoes, and a selection of fresh fruit later in the day. She likes to have breakfast between seven and eight in the morning and will call out Mum until she gets it LOL.

Madison is out of the cage from about 8 o’clock in the morning until seven at night and nine times out of 10 she will take a self back in the cage when it’s time for bed. Before she goes to bed, she loves pellets with a very small amount of seed. Hoping to remove the seed eventually and she just has pellets.

Madison has a few sayings and she has a very infectious laugh . Who saying include hello, come here, out (which I think she’s referring to the dogs when I’m asking them to leave the room so the parrots can come out of the cage). She looks to whistle and dance just enjoy his life in general.

Madison is not covered at night, but she does like a dark room to go to sleep .

Madison has discovered toys and loves crunching her way through the wooden blocks and playing tug of war with some of the rope on her cage .

Madison’s not keen on being sprayed, but I have got a very fine mist sprayer which she seems to be getting used to and hopefully in time she will love it .

Madison does not fly and has previously had her flight feathers removed, but this does not stop her adventuring off her cage and onto your shoulder .
