Sharky is a unique and sensitive parrot looking for a calm, understanding forever home with the right person. He forms strong preferences and bonds, and he is specifically seeking a female primary carer, as he is uncomfortable around men and needs them to keep their distance.

Sharky is not a “jump right in” companion — he needs time, patience, and someone who is happy to move at his pace. He prefers the safety of his cage and can take a while to choose to come out, but with consistency and quiet reassurance, his confidence continues to grow.

He has experienced some leg issues in the past, so he will need an adopter who can give a bit of extra attention to his mobility and comfort, and who is willing to monitor his setup and perches to keep him supported.

Once Sharky begins to trust you, his true personality shines through — he’s incredibly sweet, affectionate in his own way, and has a cheeky little sense of humour that makes the journey worthwhile.
