Description: Hi everyone time for the week 5 update for mango and Kobe (ASP1011) and I can now say they have completed their assessment period and are ready and eager to find their forever home and their happy ever after .
Anther solid week in the books with this gorgeous pair where they continue to shine and grow . They are a bonded pair and as such must stay together
First off mango the stunning Scarlet macaw . Mango is definitely a man’s bird as he’s not very keen on the ladies . But for his chosen human he is incredibly sweet and loving . Mango doesn’t particularly like to be stroked/pet by his human as that’s what his big girl Kobe is for . But he loves to sit on you and preen you and play with you clothes or watch or anything else he can have a chew on . He’s fully flighted and does like to fly . He is very good with his food and eats a variety of fruits veg and pellets . He can talk and loves to say hello and I love you . He is in incredible condition with meticulously preened feathers ( thanks to Kobe ) he has stunning colour’s and is in overall very good health.
He is a bundle of fun and mischief and likes to get into everything he can
Kobe “big girl” the beautiful green wing macaw. Kobe is a bit more of a social butterfly and once she settles in and feels safe , she becomes very affectionate and loves a good head scratch but like mango she doesn’t like to be stroked/pet anywhere other than her head and beak . Kobe likes both men and women and will happily step up to anyone who is calm kind and patient with her. She has come on so far with her diet as she was far more of a picky eater than mango was but she now eats a great variety of fruits veg and even pellets now as well . She also talks and loves a game of hello and like mango also likes to tell you “I love you “ they also both have a wide range of other words and noises they make .Kobe didn’t come in to us in quite as good a condition as mango did , she is a bit of a plucker on a small area of her chest where she pulls out her colour feather as they grow back in but seems to leave her down feathers alone in that area . I believe in time as she settles and continues to receive all the love and attention she deserves that this will stop in time . She now receives regular showers and her over all feather condition has improved week on week and she is looking more stunning each week .
They both love their toys and need plenty to keep them occupied. They need a big double cage and plenty of out of cage time and space and would really love an outdoor aviary as well .
They are both truly lovely birds
