Description: Kermit is approximately ten months old and had lived with his previous owner for a little less than six months.
Kermit is a funny, energetic, little dynamo that is at the heart of the action and is too nosy for his own good!
He is a tiny bundle of fearless excitement and will spend as much time as possible hanging around with his human, preferably from your hair, ear, clothes or something high up but very nearby. Kermit will now eat a good range of food and we give him fresh chop in the morning with as much variety as possible, he doesn’t like it chopped small. He likes it as the bigger parrots has it and so he can take his time. Only thing we have found he isn’t interested in is butter beans.
He has Tidymix and we’ve introduced pellets slowly and is taking them so this will offer the new owner choice. He loves hard boiled egg as a treat and pine nuts for training. He will accept most showers but prefers to jump in the sink and get the shower function on the tap and play to his hearts content and then soak you by drying himself on your clothes. Absolutely loves his baths more than anything! With regards to his cage, he doesn’t like hands in the cage, but call him to the front of the cage and he will hop straight on without and fuss and will return to the cage from the hand with clear instruction of ‘back home’. He definitely needs supervising with bigger birds, he thinks he is bigger and better and really hasn’t a clue yet! He is friendly, but is also a tormenting little so-and-so! He has spent time out of his cage with my six year old granddaughter but she is Parrot savvy and this was closely supervised. Being a baby and a conure he is still very nippy so take this into account. He will go to anyone so isn’t specific on any one being a main carer. He isn’t particularly noisy, but lots of clicks and giggles. Overall, he is a total joy. He’s lovely to be around. He’s funny and snuggly and loving and entertaining and easy to work with.
He has his days where he is a challenging little devil, but those days we leave him be and start again the next day. Whoever takes him on is a very lucky person indeed!
