Personality: Outgoing, affectionate, playful, and endlessly entertaining
Personality & Temperament
Ches thrives on attention and adores being the center of it—whether it’s with adults, children, men, or women.
He’s a natural performer: flapping his “big wings,” dancing, waving, and even talking like a pirate (“Arrr!”).
Sociable and sweet-natured, Ches is gentle and loving once settled. He may offer a soft nip in the early days, but it’s never aggressive and quickly fades.
He’s happiest perched on your shoulder, following you around the house like a loyal sidekick.
Quirks & Fun Facts
Loves to say “hello,” “bye bye,” and “night night” when covered.
Will wave, bob to music, and mimic pirate talk for a pine nut.
Doesn’t care much for toys—give him paper or a toilet roll tube and he’s content.
Surprisingly tech-savvy: he enjoys sitting with kids and even having a go on the iPad.
Ideal Home
Ches would flourish in a lively, bustling household with plenty of interaction.
He’s great with children and comfortable around other pets like cats and dogs.
Daytime: Free-roams the living room, joins household chores, interacts with family.
Evening: Back in the cage during outings, then out again until bedtime.
Bedtime (7:30–8:00 PM): Nut, cover, and a sweet “night night.”
Diet & Treats
Favorites: Oranges (top fruit), carrots, green beans, and chop.
Treat of choice: Pine nuts—he’ll do just about anything for one!
Feeding schedule: Chop or fruit in the morning, pellets throughout the day.
Socialization & Other Animals
Gets along well with other birds after a short adjustment period.
Lives peacefully alongside cats and dogs.
No signs of separation anxiety—comfortable being alone for short periods.
Care & Maintenance
Cage cleaned daily; deep cleaned every 8 days.
Enjoys a daily misting shower—tolerates it, though not his favorite.
Ches is more than a pet—he’s a companion, a performer, and a heart-stealer. If you’re looking for a bird who brings joy, laughter, and a touch of pirate flair to your home, Ches might just be your perfect match.
