After spending over a year in a small cage, Rosa and Lila have finally discovered what it means to be safe. These two inseparable ladies are the definition of a “bonded pair”—rarely a few inches apart, they spend their days preening each other, napping wing-to-wing, and discovering the joys of a varied diet. 

• Personalities: Both are incredibly laid-back and gentle. They find great security in their cage but are becoming more curious every day. They are “hands-off” for now but will sweetly greet you at the bars and happily take treats from your fingers.

• The Way to Their Hearts: Food and cardboard! They are adventurous eaters who love broccoli, sweet peas, and asparagus. If you want to see them truly happy, give them a cardboard box to shred or a warm misting bath until they are soaking wet.

• Ideal Home: They need a patient, quiet environment where they won’t be rushed. Their new family should understand that “bird time” moves slowly and be willing to let them explore at their own pace.  

  Personality & Social Habits

  • Best Friends Forever: They are rarely seen apart and spend their days preening one another, napping side-by-side, and offering mutual comfort.

  • Gentle Souls: Both have laid-back personalities. While they are still a bit shy about leaving their “safe zone,” they are becoming braver every day.

  • Human Connection: They enjoy interacting with people from the safety of their cage and will sweetly come to the bars to greet their caregivers. They are already comfortable taking treats directly from a hand.

  Diet & Preferences

  • Foodies at Heart: They have a healthy appetite! They enjoy a fresh “chop” consisting of:

    • Greens: Parsley, broccoli, and asparagus.

    • Veggies: Sweet peas and runner beans.

    • Treats: Apple, various seeds, and nuts.

  • The Pellet Transition: They are currently being introduced to a high-quality pellet diet. While they are still “playing” with them more than eating them, they are making steady progress. 

  Play & Enrichment

  • Shredding Specialists: Their absolute favourite activity is shredding cardboard!

  • Water Babies: They love bath time. They enjoy being misted with warm water until they are completely soaked.

  • Toys: They are slowly learning how to play and enjoy exploring new textures and items in their environment.
