Description: Hi my names Charlie and I’m a 6yr old cinnamon conure and I’m ready to find my forever perch, when I first came into the my safehouse mummy I would bite or run from you if you approached me and wouldn’t have anything to o with you unless I was hungry then I would shout and whistle.
Now with my safehouse mummy working with me I’ve come to realise that head rubs are THE BEST !! And face rubs and sometimes neck and feet, not too keen on you touching my feet though as my safehouse mummy thinks this was used as a way to make me move around my cage by prodding my toes so not so keen to be honest but this is starting to cage with the tickles I get here.
I will also shout when you leave me alone but not for too long, I will also give kisses and I’m starting to repeat what my safehouseh mummy says like hello baby, what you doing , gis a kiss and I will also make the kissing noise too.
My sh mummy is starting to use her hands more in the cage but I’m still very wary so this is something that will need to continue if your going to want to get somewhere with me but mummy said she can see an improvement with me.
I can be towelled but this is were I like to play dead !! Yep you read that right !! Really spooked my mummy out the first time I did it and the vet too ! But trust me I’m just playing and will happily stay there with you getting head cheek face rubs !
Now you will see from my picture that my beak doesn’t look quite right and this is due to me thinking I’m bigger then I actually am and decided to take on a cockatoo which resulted in my beak injury and mummy rushing me to the vets which lead to antibiotics and pain relief for 10 days which I took like a champ !! Vet said my beak will need trimming once the crack gets further down to stop or breaking off wrong so this aoll need to be monitored, don’t let it fool you is sure as hell doesn’t stop me and I am back to nipping hard if you catch me wrong on a pin with the head rubs.
My sh mummy would also like to mention that I have no fear of the big birds and will charge at them when out so a house without big birds would be ideal for me as don’t want history to repeat itself.
I just need a home where I can continuously come out of my shell and get plenty of head rubs and face and beak too !
I’m on a lean and fit mix with fruit and veg, I love apples and grapes and banana and oranges are yummy too
I also come with my new cage that my sh mummy got me
