Species: Blue and Gold Macaw Koko is a delightful 16-year-old Blue and Gold Macaw. After spending three weeks in a safehouse, she’s starting to feel right at home. She comes from a loving environment where she received the best care, making her relinquishment a tough decision.

Personality: Koko is a typical Blue and Gold Macaw—assertive and vocal about her likes and dislikes. She loves hanging upside down and clucking like a chicken, nattering away, and saying “hello” and “bye bye.” Interaction: She’s in a room with another Blue and Gold Macaw, Buster, and while they tolerate each other, Koko enjoys annoying him. She’s not particularly affected by other birds in the same room but likes to have things her own way.

Behavior: Koko can scream if something shocks her or if she feels left out. She’s also learning to scream when the postman comes, thanks to Buster. Despite this, she’s generally well-behaved, taking treats politely and flying around to explore and sometimes cause trouble.

Diet and Preferences: Koko loves nuts and has a sweet voice when saying thank you. She enjoys singing, dancing, and interacting with people. She does chew on things but will likely focus on her toys once she settles in. Suitability: Koko isn’t suited for homes with young children, noisy dogs, or multiple birds due to her sensitivity to noise.
