Main Carer: male

Description: Rocky came to us nearly 3 years ago and has come on wonderfully. He has plucked since he was young and, although he still plucks occasionally, it is much less than it used to be.
Rocky is very much a man’s boy. He will tolerate women but can bite quite hard, so ideally his main handler should be male. He is a fantastic character who talks really well, dances, sings and loves showing off his tunes!
He enjoys a high-quality seed mix, pellets, fresh fruit and vegetables, nuts and his favourite homemade cookies. Cashews, walnuts, grapes, tenderstem broccoli and red/yellow peppers are particular favourites.
Rocky cannot fly due to having very few wing feathers, but he loves exploring the house on foot. He needs at least 4–5 hours out of his cage each day and can become quite unhappy without plenty of attention and interaction.
He enjoys tricks such as shaking hands and high-fives. He doesn’t like stepping onto hands but will happily step onto a perch and loves sitting on your shoulder.
Rocky is best suited to being the only bird. He can become jealous around other birds and is not suitable for children due to his tendency to bite.
With the right home, plenty of attention and an experienced male handler, Rocky is an absolutely fabulous companion. He has a huge personality and, once he trusts you, is one very special boy.
